SALA 2015 - 'Off the Wall'

Replica shoes from about the time of the founders of Springton. As the Herbig's were struggling on the land and living in their tree, ladies in England and Europe were wearing fine shoes while attending balls, theatre and operas. My replicas are inspired by shoes of the 19th Century, but have been modified to be wearable today. Many of the original shoes would have been made from silk and other fabrics, I have attempted to depict the fabric designs by hand painting the patterns from the original fabrics onto the leather. |
